Goodbye
Sara: 2013 has been full of changes – and goodbyes. January 2013 brought a new era to my life and our marriage as I quit my job at a parish and transitioned into the role of stay-at-home mom for Gus. In addition, numerous friends have transitioned in and out of our lives.
Now, sadly, 2013 has given us the opportunity for one more goodbye – to you, our readers.
When we first began this blog three years ago, Justin and I were truly “Learning to Say ‘I Do’” as an engaged couple. While we had discerned our call to marriage, neither of us had any idea exactly what our vows would mean for us as a couple or as individuals. Marriage surprised us with how much fun, laughter, and joy we had together; we also had no idea exactly how much dying to oneself each of us would have to do. Now, I honestly can’t remember what life was like before Justin and I were married! As we wrote the first post, I never imagined three years later, we’d still be sharing our story with you.
Justin: We hope that you have enjoyed reading about our story and that in some small way it has helped you on your own journey in learning to say “I do” to whatever God has in store for you.
Sara: While neither Justin nor I totally have marriage figured out, we are no longer “Learning to Say ‘I Do’” as we were when we began writing this blog. Therefore, it’s time for us to say goodbye, dear readers. Whether you faithfully waited for a new post each week, or just stopped by occasionally, thank you for your prayers and support throughout the years. We’ll continue to keep you in our prayers.
We have compiled a few of our favorite blog posts below as a sort of “highlights” reel:
- For Richer or For Poorer
- Our Wedding Liturgy
- Season of Waiting
- Pizza and Pregnancy
- Say Cheese
- Growing in Holiness
- A Few Observations for Dads and Future Dads
- Discerning God’s Call
- Raising Gus in the Faith
Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers! May God Bless you,
Sincerely,
Sara and Justin
